About Our Business
We are housed in our world famous Oatman Drug Company & Arizona Central Bank Building!
Built in 1914 and 1916, this two-story historic building is on the National historic register. It has been used for many things over the years as the business hub in the tiny Gold mining town of Oatman Arizona. Used as; Drug Company, tavern (Health Club during prohibition) Soda Fountain, Barber Shop, Assay Office, Telephone, Bank, Dentist Office, Doctor’s Office, Judges Chambers, Lawyer’s Office & Museum. We are currently renovating this old gem so it can serve the public for another 100+ years. Please consider donating!

Meet Kris
I had dabbled in old school methods of soap making for nearly 20 years.
At the breakout of the COVID pandemic in 2019, we were wintering in our 1900 Oatman School House and the 1918 Spanish Flu quarantine hospital. (That was ironic! Or was it fate?) We got into our car, drove for 40 minutes in the Mohave Dessert where people had fled the big cities, to live in their campers, and gave away 40 bars of soap. (Lets see; 40 days & 40 nights wandering the desert….)
Then my two adult kids called me. They were working jobs as an Eye Tech and a phlebotomist on the front lines with 6 doctors and 30 nurses. Their hands were chapped and they needed a high performance, germ killing bar that would heal and protect their skin at the same time. So I set to work creating a medical grade bar for the medical staff in Missoula Montana. The COVID handwashing bar was born! We started to sell it during the remaining COVID pandemic years, purchased the historic Oatman Drug Company building next door in 2021 and began our soap company and Route 66 gift shop from there!
Thank you for putting your faith in our products and sharing the history and stories of our building. Please contact me any time! E-mail; oldschoolsoapworks@g-mail.com.
Have a blessed day!
